Hazardous Material Abatement and Demolition at Seal Beach School Site

Under the terms of a Design/Build contract with the City of Seal Beach, Resource provided a turn-key service that begun with the remediation of hazardous building materials from the Zoeter School site--a partially abandoned school in the center of the beachside city. Asbestos, lead, toxic-mold, PCBs and other regulated building materials were remediated while the community of concerned, inquisitive citizens looked on. Environmental remediation work was followed by the demolition and site clear of 25,000 sqft of school building. Our work concluded with significant reconstruction/remodel work to the remaining wing of the school building that was protected in place during abatement and demolition work--a new exterior wall was constructed and new electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems and interior finishes from floor-to-ceiling were installed. All work was completed ahead of schedule. In just 6 months the newly refurbished building was ready for occupancy by a Preschool/Day Care Center.
