• The Environmental Protection Agency promulgated the Asbestos National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) to minimize the release of asbestos fibers during activities involving the handling of asbestos. NESHAP requires a thorough inspection for asbestos and notifications to delegated agencies before demolition or renovation activity begins.
